As the author of more than 100 books for young readers, Lisa L. Owens has published everything from picture books to YA self-help. She creates nonfiction that cultivates curiosity and fiction that kids can see themselves in.

 

A native Midwesterner, Lisa has lived in the Pacific Northwest since the late 1990s. Her many interests include reading great books, playing the flute, studying vocal jazz, watching classic films, cooking new dishes, taking her greyhound on long walks — and, of course, WRITING FOR YOU!

Professional affiliations: SCBWI, Authors Guild, PNWA, AWP, and EFA. Lisa currently serves SCBWI Western Washington as Nonfiction Coordinator.
